Kucinich's Impeachment Train

The impeachment train is starting to roll. Last week, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), started things off by filing a three-article bill of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney. Initially largely ignored by the mainstream media, and even ridiculed by some leading Democrats in Congress, that bill, HR 333, today garnered two co-sponsors, Rep. William Lacy Clay (D-MO) and Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), the latter a deputy whip and senior member of the House congressional leadership. The two co-sponsors signing on to the bill give it a much stronger chance of being taken seriously in the House Judiciary Committee headed by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), and follow a week of intense impeachment activities across the country.

[DUCHESS NOTE: Check out “Bill Moyers Journal” on PBS every Friday evening at 9pm. I’m so glad Moyer’s has a regular program on PBS. Last week he talked with and interviewed Jon Stewart from “The Daily Show”. Moyers show follows “NOW on PBS”, which starts at 8:30pm EST. Two awesome programs back to back and I’m loving it.]

She was expected to work 360 days a year from 7:30am to 9:30pm with only a half-hour break.
[Duchess Note: This is one of the main reasons I don’t shop at places like Wal-Mart. Because their cheap products are made by Chinese slave labor and also Wal-Marts horrible treatment of its US employees. Its disgusting and more Americans need to be made aware of these atrocities. Pay abit more for good products and try to purchase items that are made in the US of A.]

Kucinich: You Cannot Deauthorize a War While Funding It
http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=104&STORY=/www/story/05-03-2007/0004580828&EDATE
In response to reports that Senator Hillary Clinton plans to support a bill deauthorizing the Iraq War on October 11th, Congressman Dennis Kucinich said: "Now that Senator Clinton supports deauthorization, will she support defunding the war? When someone votes to fund the war 100 percent of the time and then says she supports deauthorization, it looks like a gimmick. Last week she voted to fund the war again. Every time she votes to fund the war she reauthorizes it. The true test of her commitment to ending the war is whether she'll vote to stop funding it. Congress will soon be faced with yet another decision on whether or not to fund the war. Let's see how Senator Clinton votes, to see if she is to be believed.” Congressman Dennis Kucinich opposed the war from the start and has voted 100 percent of the time against funding it. When President Bush vetoed the recent funding bill, Kucinich was the only member of the House to vote Present. He did so because he objected to the Congressional Democrats' position and to Bush's position. Kucinich has a plan to end the war: HR 1234.

Your Wal Mart statement is so true. Unfortunately in a lot of towns and small cities, WM has taken over not leaving many other options for a place to shop. People even buy their food their now because it's all they can afford.
Yeah, I know what you mean in regards to small towns and such. Like the Bush Regime, their aim is to take over and rule. Its disgusting! Even my Mom shops at Wal-Mart if she can't find something in Target. A very good friend of mine works at Wal-Mart and she's treated badly. They also mess with employees moral, confidence in themselves, use fear tactics, supression, etc. Over the last decade or so, with outsourcing of American jobs overseas, many folk can only find work at low paying jobs such as Wal-Mart. The so called "American Dream" is now pretty much a myth.
All corporations must use pretty much the same tactics in regards to how they treat their employees. It reminds me a lot of my days at MacDonald's.
Not all corporate retail, like Wal-Mart, are that horrible to their employees. Yes, your right, their tactics and treatment of employees are quite similiar to McDonalds. This same good friend who now works at Wal-Mart, worked briefly at McDonalds when she got out of college. It so disgusted her that she became a vegetarian.
