PERSONAL NEWS #285
Nov 2nd, I had lunch with a friend and we talked about his recent Disney cruise to Bermuda.

Nov 3rd / 4th, I visited the parents in upstate NY to take care of some documents and legal issues.  In addition, take care of errands and have brunch with friends on Sunday.

Nov 5th, after work, I attended the monthly BFP PEJ committee meeting in Brooklyn Heights.

Nov 6th, before heading to work, I went to my local polling station to vote.  After work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

Nov 7th, after work, I got a much-needed manicure.

Nov 9th, after work, I headed uptown to WCW office, and volunteered with updating data for their system.

Nov 10th to 12th, I visited with friends in Salem MA, plus the PEM to see the “Empresses of China’s Forbidden City” exhibit.  In addition, an enjoyable day trip to Boston to go on a fascinating walking tour and several exhibits at the Museum of Fine Arts.  I stayed at the delightful Northey Street House B&B, which I highly recommend, and a delicious dinner at The Tavern in the Hawthorne Inn.

Nov 13th, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

Nov 14th, after work, I briefly stopped by the BFP “community event” at The Commons to drop off documents and talk with other board members.  Then onto The Garden to discuss their advert for BFP event journal.

Nov 15th, after work, I took Uber car service home, as the weather was so bad with heavy, wet snow.  Roads were difficult for driving and walking.  Wait time for Uber was 30 minutes and the ride home about an hour.  Compared to others my commute was easy.

Nov 17th, after taking care of assorted errands and chores, I got a much-needed pedicure, plus phone calls with friends.

Nov 19th, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

Nov 21st, after work, I joined some friends at the cinema to see the latest “Fantastic Beasts” movie.

Nov 22nd, this is my 12th year in doing volunteer work with ProjectFind on Thanksgiving Day.

Nov 23rd to 25th, I visited with the parents in upstate NY for the holiday weekend.  Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday with friends of the family.  Errands and hair salon appt completed.  Watched holiday movies on cable telly.

Nov 28th, after work, I attended the monthly BFP fundraising committee meeting regarding the upcoming “Pathmakers to Peace” event in December.

Nov 30th, at work, we had “game night” in our boardroom, and the staff had a fun time playing Uno, Jenga and Pictionary.

October 1st, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

October 3rd, I had lunch with a friend and we talked about his book / job hunting.  After work, I attended the productive monthly BFP PEJ committee meeting.

October 4th, after work, I got a much-needed pedicure in my hood.

October 7th, during the afternoon I visited the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for a leisurely stroll and then visited friends nearby.

October 8th, our office was closed today for the holiday.  I had a medical appt regarding bone density and mammogram.  Afterwards, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

October 10th, after work, I attended the monthly BFP board members meeting, which was intense, as well as productive.

October 11th, after work, I went out to dinner with a good friend, who is also my accountant, and we noshed at SongKran on 8th Avenue.

October 13th / 14th, visited the parents in upstate NY and help out with errands, shopping and chores.  In addition, Mom and I visited with Dad at the CLR both days.  In addition, we had breakfast with friends on Sunday at our fav establishment.

October 15th, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

October 16th, the BFP Fundraising committee had a conference call during the afternoon to work out more details regarding the December Pathmakers to Peace event.

October 17th, after work, I headed to Salam restaurant on West 13th Street to celebrate my 60th birthday with friends, and we had a wonderful time.  Received some lovely cards and gifties.

October 19th, after work, I had dinner with a friend at SongKran on 8th Avenue.

October 20th, I joined a friend in visiting the Bronx Zoo for a fun, leisurely afternoon, and then off to Yonkers for a delicious Italian dinner at Carlo’s on Tuckahoe Road.

October 21st, after getting a much-needed manicure, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

Oct 22nd, after work, I met up with two friends in Chinatown for more birthday dinner celebrations.

Oct 25th, after work, I met up with a high school chum, and we had a delicious belated birthday dinner at Souen Macrobiotic restaurant in the East Village.

Oct 26th, after work, I attended the “20 Years of Magic Celebrating HP” at Books of Wonder.  Got to hang out with other friends and acquaintances from TGTSNBN.

Oct 27th & 28th, I visited the parents in upstate NY and Dad is still at the CLR in VT.  Had Sunday brunch with friends at Benson’s.  Good food and good times.

Oct 29th, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

Oct 30th, I jumped on a BFP fundraising committee meeting/call in the afternoon, as we are still planning the “Pathmakers to Peace” event for early December.


Oct 31st, at the office, we had fun dressing up in costume, and awards were given out.  Sadly, my costume here didn't win.  After work, I headed up to West 13th Street to join friends for the annual NYC Halloween Parade.

Sept 1st to 9th, I was on vacation from work.  Visiting with the parents in upstate NY to take care of them.  Took care of many errands, chores, hair salon, and paperwork for medical services, celebrated my father’s 83rd birthday and dined out with friends of the parents.

Sept 10th, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

Sept 11th, received call from Mom, stating that Dad was rushed to ER with pneumonia and pulmonary edema.  He will be in ICU for a while.

Sept 13th, after work, I joined a friend of mine to see the NY Mets beat the FL Marlins out at Citi Fields.

Sept 15th / 16th, I visited with the parents in upstate NY to help with errands, chores, shopping, plus visit Dad in the hospital.

Sept 17th, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

Sept 18th, after work, got a manicure and then did some grocery shopping.

Sept 19th, after work, I went to the SGI center near Union Square to do 30-minutes of chanting with others.  It is always an uplifting experience.

Sept 21st, after work, I saw several wonderful exhibits at the Morgan Library & Museum.

Sept 22nd, I joined a friend of mine in visiting the NY Botanical Gardens during a nice, leisurely afternoon.  The Georgia O’Keefe exhibit was terrific, as was the exhibit in the greenhouse on Hawaiian plants / flowers, and we enjoyed the tram ride around the gardens.  Back in Manhattan, I had a delicious dinner near Union Square at Nanoosh.

Sept 23rd, I volunteered with BFP at their table during the Atlantic Antic street fair.  Afterwards, I did some grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s.

Sept 24th, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

Sept 27th, after work, I attended the monthly SGI Buddhist planning / study meeting in my hood.

Sept 29th, I joined a friend of mine up near Warwick, NY in visiting the lovely “Pacem in Terris” gardens with funky artwork on a perfect autumn day.  We had a late lunch in Warwick, apple picking, shopping in Sugarloaf, watched a sunset, and wrapped it up with dinner down in Irvington, NY at a terrific Thai place.

Sept 30th, I got a much-needed manicure in my hood.

PERSONAL NEWS #282
August 1st, after work, I jumped on a productive conference call for the BFP fundraising committee.

August 3rd, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

August 4th, I joined my friend Wendy in seeing the film “Christopher Robin”, and afterwards going to PeaceFood Café for a delicious dinner.  The film was delightful, fun and charming.  I highly recommend it.

August 7th, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

August 8th, during my lunch hour I had an eye doctor appt.  First time in 8 years and went from 2.0 to 2.75 concerning my reading glasses.  Everything else is okay.  After work, I got a much-needed manicure, and finished packing for my trip to Seattle.

August 9th to 12th, I visited with two friends out in Seattle, WA for a mini vacation.  I attended a 3-hour Pearl Jam concert at Safeco Field, and saw some of the sites.  Weather was nice, low humidity and sunny most of the time.

August 14th, I attended a Fred Pryor seminar today regarding Emotional Intelligence, and afterwards I headed back to the office to put in 3.5 hours of work.

August 15th, Mom is back in the hospital with a fracture upper arm, and the Home Health Aide is staying with my father until I can get upstate.

August 16th to 19th, I headed upstate NY to take care of my Father while Mom was in the hospital.  Then they were both put into the rehab center in southwestern VT for the week.  Working with assorted organizations, insurance, doctors etc. on getting the situation stabilized.  Took care of their house, went to hair salon, chores, errands and then breakfast with friends of ours.

August 21st, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

August 25th to 26th, I headed upstate NY to take care of my parents while they were in rehab, and the house, with other errands.

August 27th, after work, I got a much-needed pedicure at a salon in my hood.

August 29th, after work, I had a 1.5-hour massage therapy session with Eric at the apt.  Ongoing therapy for my back, neck, legs and lungs.

August 30th, after work, I attended the monthly BFP board meeting in Brooklyn.
