PERSONAL NEWS #236
Sept 1st, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

Sept 4th, I attended the monthly NYC HP meetup on the upper Westside.  Meetup was fun and a good turnout of members.

Sept 5th, I attended an excellent forum in Park Slope called “Which Way Forward – Climate Chaos or Climate Justice?”

Sept 6th, I met up with Debbie in Park Slope [ie: Cocoa Bar lounge] to give her Mom’s horsey pin for repair work.   Afterwards, I headed into Manhattan to meet with Wendy.  I gave her the 9 yards of tartan fabric that she’ll create into a Hufflepuff vest, sash and skirt for my HP cosplays.

Sept 7th, I had a much needed acupuncture treatment at Dr Tan’s office.

Sept 8th, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

Sept 9th, I attended the monthly BFP Fund/PF committee meeting at Ken’s apt.

Sept 10th, I had a much needed chiropractor treatment appt.

Sept 12th, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

Sept 13th, after Dana cleaned my apt in the morning, I took care of errands, worked at the office for abit, and then visited Wendy for costume fitting.

Sept 14th, I joined friends of mine at a NY METS baseball game out at CitiFields for “Stitch n Pitch”.  We had a fun time, but sadly the NY Mets lost the game to the Washington Nationals 3-0.

Sept 16th, I attended an interesting and productive monthly BFP A&C committee meeting at Charlotte’s place.

Sept 18th, I volunteered, via my office, to work at an outside event from 7am to 5pm.

Sept 19th, after a much needed chiropractor appt, I had private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

Sept 20th, I joined other TGTSNBN members for a HP cosplay in Old Lyme, CT at the delightful Gillette Castle estate.  Great time and lots of fun.

Sept 21st, I joined other members of BFP to attend the immensely huge and awesome Peoples Climate March in Manhattan.

Sept 22nd, I worked an all-day EY / client event offsite from 7am to 6:30pm.  Company paid for car service to and from the event.  That evening was the premiere on TV of season two for “Sleepy Hollow”  J

Sept 25th, I joined Debbie S, Mackenzie and Debbie B for dinner at Sammy’s Noodle Shop and Grill to chat about Doctor Who, Lost and Harry Potter.

Sept 26th, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

Sept 27th, I had a much needed acupuncture therapy session with Dr Tan

Sept 28th, I joined other friends in heading up to Valley Cottage for the annual Tolkien theme picnic at Timdalf’s place.  We had lovely weather, fun conversations and good food.

PERSONAL NEWS #235
August 1st, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

August 2nd and 3rd, I spent weekend in a viewing marathon of seasons 5 and 6 of LOST on DVD.  As well as taking out some time to volunteer with BFP at Fowler Square in Brooklyn to peacefully protest the continued horrors in the Middle East.

August 5th, I attended the monthly BFP Fund/PF committee meeting at Ken’s apt, which was very productive.  We are gearing up for the big 30th Anniversary event in November.

August 7th, I attended the productive and informative monthly BFP board meeting at Martha and Gary’s home in Park Slope.

August 8th, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

August 9th, I joined my friend Judith for a tasty vegan lunch at Nanoosh and then some shopping at Gracious Homes / Pottery Barn.  Then we saw the film “A Most Wanted Man”.  The film was the last for Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who died of drug overdose in 2013.  Good film, intense and Hoffman was brilliant.  Afterwards, we had a light dinner at Fiorello’s.

August 10th, I had a much need acupuncture with Dr Tan and discussion on fruits / veggies I can have in my diet.  After a lunch of sushi, I took a leisurely stroll through Central Park.

August 11th, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

August 14th, after work I attended a forum at the Cooper Union regarding the horrific Israel / Gaza situation.  While there I ran into Rob Jereski and Jim McCabe.  Both gents I’ve worked with on past political campaigns and hadn’t seen in several years.

August 15th, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

August 16th, after taking care of many errands and a manicure, I headed into Manhattan to see movie and have dinner with Wendy and Debbie.  We saw the wonderful film “The Hundred-Yard Journey” starring Helen Mirren.  Highly recommend this film.  Afterwards, we had reservations at a delightful Indian restaurant called Devi on 18th Street.

August 17th, I visited my friend Katherine in CT and we went to the annual SoNo Art Festival, followed by Chinese lunch and then wrapping up with buying books at B&N.

August 18th, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

August 20th, I had a much needed chiropractic therapy appt.

August 21st, I attended the monthly “NYC Friends of Tolkien” meetup at our usual diner.  About 12 meetup members were there and it was lots of fun.

August 22nd, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.

August 23rd, I headed out to Long Island to visit my friend Yvette.  We drove out to Robert Moses park and beach for the afternoon.  We did side walking excursions to the Fire Island lighthouse and the little town of Kismet.  Weather wasn’t the greatest, but despite all that we had a good time.  We enjoyed a tasty lunch at Surf’s Out in Kismet.

August 24th, I had a much needed appt with Dr Tan for acupuncture treatment.

August 26th, I attended the monthly meeting for BFP Arts and Culture committee.  Productive meeting and our guest decided to become a member of the committee.

August 28th to 31st – I visited the parents in upstate NY for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
