PERSONAL NEWS #266
April 1st, I took
care of many errands and chores around the neighborhood. Picked up a framed print I had done for the
kitchen and it looks great.
April 2nd, due to
“tax season” I had to work 5 hours at the office from 10am to 3pm. [Paid overtime, oh yeah!] Afterwards, since it was such a lovely day, I
took the East River ferry boat ride home to my neighborhood.
April 3rd to 7th,
damn “tax season” is really kicking into overdrive. It is resulting in stress, aggravation and
paid overtime.
April 8th, after
Dana finished cleaning my apt, I had a good private yoga session with Fabrice
and gave him a raise in fee. Took care
of errands, chores and laundry before doing job hunting on the internet.
April 9th, I had to
work paid overtime at the office from 10am to 3:30pm due to tax season. Missed the ferry boat at the pier, so took office
paid car service home to my hood.
April 10th to 12th,
damn “tax season” is still kicking it into overdrive these three days at the
office. Way too much stress, aggravation
and paid overtime. I am so done with
this “job assignment” and counting down the days to the end of it.
April 13th, office
life has slowed down abit, and very thankful for that. Had a call / interview with an agency during
my lunch hour. I updated the resume last
week and been farming it out to agencies and prospective jobs for EA.
April 14th, another
slow day at the office, and another call / interview with an agency during my
lunch hour.
April 16th, it was
a beautiful, warm, sunny Easter Sunday in NYC.
I headed to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens at 1pm and then joined a
friend for tea/dessert at Cocoa Bar in Park Slope afterwards.
April 17th, a busy
day at the office during the final days of “tax season”. Worked 3 hours’ overtime and took car service
home. I am so done with this dead-end
temp job.
April 18th, I had a
call / interview with another agency during my lunch hour.
April 19th, slow
day at the office, and a call / interview with another agency during my lunch
hour.
April 20th, after
work I had over to the BFP headquarters to assist with phone banking during our
fundraising drive for the organization.
April 21st, last
day at the temp job and left around 5pmish.
Took the East River ferry boat to my hood.
April 22nd to 25th,
I visited with the parents in upstate NY.
Helped them out with yard work, laundry, grocery shopping and took them
out for breakfast several times. Got to
see my brother and sister-in-law, plus get my hair done at salon.
April 26th, I had
an appt in the morning with a new “temp” agency down in lower Manhattan. Went well and have an interview lined up for
a temp position next week on Monday.
Afterwards, I headed uptown to meet up with an ex-coworker for a light
lunch and conversation. Then headed back
to my hood for a much-needed manicure, early dinner at Jungle Café, check out
The Box House Hotel and a new apt bldg on Box Street before doing some grocery
shopping.
April 27th, I had
two job interviews today. One for an
actual job and the other with an agency.
Both went very well. I also
stopped by my old office in Times Square to see an ex-coworker and get some of
my updated resume printed out. After the
interviews, I headed back to my hood for a late lunch at The Jungle Café. Delicious vegan food!
April 28th, I had
two much needed doctor appts today … chiropractor and lung specialist … then
back to my hood for a delicious vegan meal at The Jungle Café before heading
home to do laundry.
April 30th, I had a good private yoga session with Fabrice at the apt, and afterwards I headed down to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens to join a friend. All the trees were in bloom with fragrant blossoms and the Lilacs were still out. It was a cool, windy day and the gardens were crowded with people. Picked up some lovely goodies from the gift shop and then back to friends apt for a light meal.

In hundreds of demonstrations across this mighty country, Americans, by the tens of thousands, marched on Tax Day to demand that the only President in decades who has refused to show his taxes, do so now as they ask: "What are you hiding from us, Donald Trump?"
In NYC, tens of thousands gathered at Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan and the streets echoed to the cries of "Show us your Taxes! What are you hiding" as speaker after speaker heaped scorn on Trump's claim that Americans are "not interested" or "don't care" about his tax returns.
After speeches the marchers headed up Sixth Avenue in an hours-long parade. The march ended at that blot on the NYC skyline, Trump Tower. Never in all my years of protests against the Vietnam war and the Iraq war, with the administrations of Regan and Bush, have I witnessed such universal disdain and scorn for a President and certainly not this early in their administration.
With increasing hints of subversion of our electoral process and amazement at the open corruption and conflicts of interest of his appointments to high offices of fellow billionaires and scoundrels, it's no wonder that increasing numbers of Americans are looking at the President with increasing dislike and repulsion.
This was a peaceful and friendly outpouring of every-day patriotic Americans who seem to be saying "we want our country back. The sooner you leave, the better, Donald Trump!"
