The Division Bell
In 50 plus years, never did I hear,
the division bell ring so loud, so clear.
We label, judge and assign blame…
In reality tho, we all want the same.

To live in peace and leave behind,
Much better world, than we did find.
A world in which, our children thrive,
To grow, progress and be alive.

Free of violence, war and fear,
beloved community now and here.
Indeed it’s possible, for one and all,
In unity we rise, in division, we fall.

My belief indeed, steadfast and true,
this much and more, we can all do.
Create a new world and a new season,
void of our current, lapses of reason.

Free of all judgement, anger and pain,
anything less, is really quite insane.
Our descendants will surely rise and soar
the day the division bell, rings no more.

Many thanks to my friend Joe in sharing this wonderful poem yesterday at the his annual holiday gathering / luncheon in Queens. We strive every day in working towards that division bell ringing no more.
