MORE EXCITING NEWS FROM THE DENNIS KUCINICH 2004 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN TRAIL

Petitions Pouring In (http://www.kucinich.us/petitions/) Thank you to everyone who is out there gathering petitions. We have already received tens of thousands of petitions in both online signatures and hard copies mailed in to Headquarters. However, there is still much work to be done in order to deliver a million signatures to the Democratic Party platform committees. Remember to encourage anyone who supports these issues to sign the petitions? It's about influencing the Party. Click here to sign petitions. (http://www.kucinich.us/petitions/)

This week is "Cover the Uninsured Week," a nationwide effort to raise awareness about the 44 million Americans who lack health care. Go to: http://www.covertheuninsuredweek.org/ for information about local events to collect signatures for our universal health care petition.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM NARAL PRO-CHOICE AMERICA ON LATEST NEWS

President Bush's administration proved yet again that it will allow a small number of conservative extremists to prescribe policy for women's health and birth control options. Just yesterday, May 6, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rejected a proposal to allow the Plan B emergency contraceptive to be sold over-the-counter, overriding the overwhelming recommendation of two scientific advisory committees. Bush has played politics with women's reproductive health throughout his presidency, but he crossed a line when he sacrificed an effective and underutilized birth control option to the agenda of conservative extremists. If President Bush is serious about reducing abortion, he should make better access to contraception a priority.

Help us get President Bush's attention. We know that Americans support contraception - now we need your help to make sure Bush knows it, too. What policies do you think President Bush should support to reduce unintended pregnancy? Send us your prescription for President Bush. We'll deliver it to the White House.
