MESSAGE FROM UNITED FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE ... Amy Goodman to Address Citywide Meeting on Building the Peace Movement

Wednesday, December 1st
6:30 PM
235 West 23 Street (between 7 and 8 Ave)
Manhattan [NYC]

Just wanted to make sure you know about an important meeting of United for Peace and Justice in NYC on Wednesday, December 1st. The meeting will begin with comments by Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now! at 6:30 pm. We continue to learn more about what actually happened when the Bush administration escalated the war in Iraq with its assault on Falluja. And every day the war continues throughout Iraq, bringing with it more death and destruction. Here in NYC we've had several antiwar protests in the last few weeks, just as people around the country have also taken to the streets. Now is the time to take stock of our work. We need to explore how we continue the struggle with creative organizing methods, while at the same time expanding the base of support for ending the occupation and bringing the troops home. The citywide meeting on Wednesday, December 1st will be an opportunity fordiscussion about the meaning of the presidential election, what's happening in Iraq and how we will organize a stronger movement in the greater NewYork City area. We hope you will be able to attend this important meeting. Thank you ... Peace & Solidarity!
