EMERGENCY DEMONSTRATION IN NYC -- Stop the Massacre of Fallujah!
On Tuesday, November 9, at 5 pm a huge rally sponsored by ACTION CENTER in Union Square [14th Street] ... As this is being typed, the U.S. invasion of Fallujah has begun. Troops have entered the western part of the city, where they have attacked and occupied a major hospital, handcuffing staff and patients and closing down the hospital. Dozens of Iraqis have been killed in the opening round of the offensive. This is the beginning of a full-scale massacre of the residents of Fallujah. Lt. Col. Pete Newell, a battalion commander from the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division, said, "We're going to start at one end of the city, and we're not going to stop until we get to the other. If there's anybody left when that happens, we're going to turn around and we're going to go back and finish it." Anti-war activists are planning to pack Union Square Tuesday night to say NO to the massacre in Fallujah. US TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ! STOP US WAR CRIMES IN FALLUJAH, IRAQ AND REST OF THE WORLD! Call 212-633-6646 for more information. On Friday, November 12th, there will be more rallies in the streets [sponsored by ACTION CENTER] in Union Square at 5pm.
