DUCHESS NOTE ... Everyone's either talking about or going to see those "gates" in Central Park. Personally, I think there hideous and not real art. But if it excites yah then go for it. A fellow Kucitizen share the following link with me [see below]. Its called "Somerville Gates" and somewhat similar to the Central Park thing. The difference is I find these "gates" more amusing than the junk in Central Park. Check it out.........http://www.not-rocket-science.com/door_gates.htm

QUOTE OF THE DAY ... Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest. Mahtma Gandhi

RESISTANCE CINEMA PRESENTS:

"ABOUT BAGHDAD"- a 90-minute documentary made in 2003 which traces the journey of Sinan Antoon, an Iraqi poet and journalist in exile who left Saddam's Iraq in 1991 and returned to Baghdad in July 2003 after 12 years of teaching and studying Iraqi literature in the U.S.

WHERE: Community Church (gallery) ... 28 East 35th St., between Park and Madison Avenues
WHEN: Sunday, February 27, at 1:15 p.m.
ADMISSION: Free and open to the public
INFORMATION: Call 212-777-5533

Produced by Incounter Productions, this film documents Sinan Antoon's interviews with a wide range of Iraqis, from cab drivers to writers. This unique documentary captures the voice of the Iraqi people in that cruvialinterval of time just three months after the fall of Baghdad, when there was still a "window of opportunity" for the US to gain the support of ordinary Iraqis. To his credit, Antoon, who opposed the US invasion, allows all voices to be heard, from those who supported the US to those who were already bitterly opposed. The Iraqis open up to him, and their concerns, their hopes, and their expectations take center stage. There will be a post-screen discussion of the film. RESISTANCE CINEMA is a collaborative project of the Education Committee of Not In Our Name and Action for Justice of the Community Church of New York.
