August 1st, I had a private yoga class with Fabrice and Shiva.
August 2nd and 3rd, I spent weekend
in a viewing marathon of seasons 5 and 6 of LOST on DVD. As well as taking out some time to volunteer
with BFP at Fowler Square in Brooklyn to peacefully protest the continued
horrors in the Middle East.
August 5th, I attended the monthly BFP Fund/PF
committee meeting at Ken’s apt, which was very productive. We are gearing up for the big 30th
Anniversary event in November.
August 7th, I attended the productive and
informative monthly BFP board meeting at Martha and Gary’s home in Park Slope.
August 8th, I had a private yoga class with
Fabrice and Shiva.
August 9th, I joined my friend Judith for a
tasty vegan lunch at Nanoosh and then some shopping at Gracious Homes / Pottery
Barn. Then we saw the film “A Most
Wanted Man”. The film was the last for
Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who died of drug overdose in 2013. Good film, intense and Hoffman was
brilliant. Afterwards, we had a light
dinner at Fiorello’s.
August 10th, I had a much need acupuncture
with Dr Tan and discussion on fruits / veggies I can have in my diet. After a lunch of sushi, I took a leisurely
stroll through Central Park.
August 11th, I had a private yoga class with
Fabrice and Shiva.
August 14th, after work I attended a forum at
the Cooper Union regarding the horrific Israel / Gaza situation. While there I ran into Rob Jereski and Jim
McCabe. Both gents I’ve worked with on
past political campaigns and hadn’t seen in several years.
August 15th, I had a private yoga class with
Fabrice and Shiva.
August 16th, after taking care of many errands
and a manicure, I headed into Manhattan to see movie and have dinner with Wendy
and Debbie. We saw the wonderful film
“The Hundred-Yard Journey” starring Helen Mirren. Highly recommend this film. Afterwards, we had reservations at a
delightful Indian restaurant called Devi on 18th Street.
August 17th, I visited my friend Katherine in
CT and we went to the annual SoNo Art Festival, followed by Chinese lunch and
then wrapping up with buying books at B&N.
August 18th, I had a private yoga class with
Fabrice and Shiva.
August 20th, I had a much needed chiropractic
therapy appt.
August 21st, I attended the monthly “NYC
Friends of Tolkien” meetup at our usual diner.
About 12 meetup members were there and it was lots of fun.
August 22nd, I had a private yoga class with
Fabrice and Shiva.
August 23rd, I headed out to Long Island to
visit my friend Yvette. We drove out to
Robert Moses park and beach for the afternoon.
We did side walking excursions to the Fire Island lighthouse and the
little town of Kismet. Weather wasn’t
the greatest, but despite all that we had a good time. We enjoyed a tasty lunch at Surf’s Out in
Kismet.
August 24th, I had a much needed appt with Dr
Tan for acupuncture treatment.
August 26th, I attended the monthly meeting
for BFP Arts and Culture committee.
Productive meeting and our guest decided to become a member of the
committee.
August 28th to 31st – I visited the
parents in upstate NY for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
