Update ... Over two dozen people carrying petitions for us in the District! Reports back show that people are eager to have their views represented. The latest featured endorsement: Edmund McWilliams, a thirty year veteran of the foreign service at the State Department's Human Rights, Democracy and Labor Department and a Vietnam Veteran. Here's what he had to say about our efforts:

"I believe Robert Jereski is one of a new band of progressive young leaders who not only reject the failed policies of the past but are pursuing promising new approaches, particularly with regard to the disastrous course charted by the Bush Administration in Iraq and elsewhere abroad. As a foreign policy specialist, with 30 years of Government service, I believe that Jereski offers new thinking regarding complex foreign policy problems which is creative and responsible."

Why This Race Is Very Important

The incumbent enabled the Bush Agenda, supporting his war in Iraq. She did this despite the fact that calls to her office by her constituents were one thousand to one against authorizing Bush to go to war! And despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of people marched against the war in her district. She also supported Bush's erosion of our civil liberties, his corporate trade agenda, and his fiscally reckless Pentagon spending, including the Star Wars missile shield and new nuclear weapons! We need to send a message loud and clear to this "Democrat" that she can not take our vote for granted when she ignores our wishes on the most pressing issues of the day! Consider also that the headquarters of the major corporate media outfits in the country are in our district. The executives of these companies are residents of the district. Our district includes the wealthiest zip code in the country. We can have a major effect on the future of the district, of our country, and of our Democratic Party by winning this election!
