Democrat Robert Jereski In The News

[Message from Jereski Campaign ... Tuesday, July 6th, we made Cindy Adams, the gossip column of the New York Post. She described how the incumbent Maloney left a screening of Fahrenheit 911 and ran smack into one of our petitioners! We are everywhere!] Check out the following articles on Jereski's campaign run for NYC Congressional District #14:

URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL WHO LIVE IN AND AROUND THE NYC AREA!

If you like Free Speech, please take time to help out United For Peace & Justice and make an important call. You'll make a difference while standing up for your democracy. Call NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg to demand an August 29 rally permit for United for Peace and Justice! Phone 212-788-3000 Fax 212-788-9711

PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY!

With less than two months until the massive march and rally on August 29th (the day before the Republican Convention opens in New York City), United for Peace and Justice [UFPJ] is still negotiating for the permits. UFPJ has one important victory to report, thanks in significant part to the huge number of phone calls and faxes made by supporters like you: The New York City Police have agreed that UFPJ will be able to march directly in front of Madison Square Garden, the site of the Republican National Convention But UFPJ still do not have a permit for the rally after the march. UFPJ needs your help again, and they need it today. On Friday, July 9, they have another meeting with the police department, and it would be wonderful to flood the office of the mayor of NYC with thousands of phone calls and faxes. UFPJ are urging people from every corner of this country to immediately contact the mayor of New York City and urge him to issue a permit for the rally on the Great Lawn in Central Park on Sunday, August 29th. Please make a difference. . . .

If we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed and color, we would find some other cause for prejudice by noon. -George D. Aiken, US Senator

The Mother Of All Anti-War Forces
ALTERNET
by Naomi Klein
There is a remarkable scene in "Fahrenheit 9/11" when Lila Lipscomb talks with an anti-war activist outside the White House about the death of her 26-year-old son in Iraq. A pro-war passerby doesn't like what she overhears and announces, "This is all staged!" Ms. Lipscomb turns to the woman, her voice shaking with rage, and says: "My son is not a stage. He was killed in Karbala, Apr. 2. It is not a stage. My son is dead." Then she walks away and wails, "I need my son." Read the whole article at: http://alternet.org/waroniraq/19191/
