"Welcome to the Revolution" PDA Reception at DNC Meeting

PDA will be hosting a public reception for folks from the progressive community to meet and greet attendees of the Young Democrats of America (YDA) conference and the Winter Democratic National Committee (DNC) meeting on December 1. Our gathering will be fun, energetic, and a reminder to those in attendance at both meetings, that the progressive community is organized and building within the party. We will showcase progressive issues during the evening and provide an opportunity to network with DNC members. In attendance will be some notable progressive leaders from the southwest and nationwide. Rep. Lynn Woolsey and Rep. Barbara Lee are clearing their schedules to try to make the event as well.

Details:
When: December 1, 2005 -- Doors open at 8:00pm
Where: The Lucky Break -- Phoenix, AZ
Who: Progressive Leaders and Activists
The message: The Progressive Revolution of the Democratic Party is organized!

MESSAGE FROM SENATOR HARRY REID
I shouldn't have to write an email like this. It shouldn't even cross George Bush's mind to pardon Scooter Libby. Yet George Bush refuses to come out and just plainly tell the American people, if Scooter Libby or anyone else is found guilty of a crime in connection with Patrick Fitzgerald’s investigation, he will not pardon them. Last week, myself, and Senators Durbin, Schumer and Biden, sent a letter to George Bush asking him not to pardon Scooter Libby. So far the White House has not responded. Now it's your turn. Sign our emergency petition telling George Bush: You must pledge not to pardon Scooter Libby or anyone else convicted as part of Patrick Fitzgerald’s investigation. http://giveemhellharry.com/page/petition/libby

Scooter Libby cannot rely on his close relationship with George Bush or Dick Cheney to obtain the kind of extraordinarily special treatment unavailable to ordinary Americans. To put it simply, a pardon in these circumstances would signal that this White House considers itself above the law. Only swift public action by George Bush will make clear that he takes seriously perjury and obstruction of justice at the highest levels of our government and that he meant what he said about bringing honor and dignity to the White House. Sign the emergency petition by visiting: http://giveemhellharry.com/page/petition/libby
