Grassroots Support ‘out polls’ Mega-Millions Campaign Treasuries
http://kucinich.us/node/4232
Despite a cash advantage of tens of millions of dollars, the heavily financed Democratic Presidential frontrunners are struggling to muster any significant advantage among grassroots Democratic activists, while under-rated Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich catapulted to a stunningly strong third-place finish in a nationwide poll among likely Democratic voters. According to the results of a poll released today by MoveOn.org, a 3.2 million-member organization, Kucinich drew the support of 17.18% of members who participated in the poll. That was only about 10 points behind Illinois Senator Barack Obama, and only seven points behind former Senator John Edwards. Kucinich came in ahead of New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson (12.26%), New York Senator Hillary Clinton (10.7%), Delaware Senator Joseph Biden (6.19%), and Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd (1.05%). The specific question asked of the members related to an out-of-Iraq strategy.
In a statement issued by his campaign, Kucinich, the only candidate who voted against the original Iraq war authorization in 2002 and every war-funding appropriation since, said, "No matter how many millions of dollars they spend, the candidates who supported going to war and consistently voted to fund the continuation of the war will not be able to hide their records. The American people want this war to end, and they want our troops brought home. Anyone who agrees to give George Bush even one more dollar for a war that threatens the lives of our best and bravest will need to answer for that decision."
Kucinich, campaigning in Iowa today, said the other Democratic Presidential candidates are engaged in a "fake debate" over the Congressional war-funding bill on its way to the President’s desk. He is expected to veto the measure, putting the pressure back on Congress to support continued funding or to cut off funding. "You don’t support our troops by approving a hundred billion dollar spending bill that lets the President continue the war through the end of his term. You support our troops by cutting off additional spending and bringing our troops home.”

Message from Ben Kroetz from TrueMajority
Well, it's tax time again. You know, wrangling with our federal tax forms might feel a lot less frustrating if we knew Congress and the President were using our money to create stronger families and communities, and a more peaceful world. This year, don't let Tax Day get you down. Instead, send Congress a message, [see link below] and tell them how you want your tax dollars spent. http://truemajorityaction.org/oreos/ustack/
You've probably seen the Oreo Cartoon where our founder, Ben Cohen, shows how the federal budget stacks up cookie by cookie. Now you can build your own federal budget with stacks of virtual Oreos. THEN, e-mail YOUR sensible budget to your Senators and Congressperson and tell them how you want your money spent.
FDA Regulators Using Legal Trickery to Kill Alternative Procedures and Products
The FDA is using legal maneuvering to end your access to natural health products (like vitamins, minerals and herbs) and natural health therapies of all sorts. Again. This time, their ploy is to declare the therapies are "Medicine", so any non-physician who uses them will be practicing medicine without a license. Since these practices are "Medicine", any products used would be untested drugs and therefore forbidden.
Your Comments are Vitally Important ... Public, professional and industry comments are being accepted on the FDA proposal to "capture" alternative procedures and products as "medicine" and then make them illegal. The history of these repressive attacks by the FDA makes it clear that public outcry, IN HUGE NUMBERS, is the only effective tool that natural health supporters have to change this disastrous outcome. Comments will be accepted until April 30. By contacting everyone you can reach to ask for their participation in this comment campaign, we can kill this assault on personal health freedom. Again, please check out link http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizationsORG/healthfreedomusa/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=7185 and sign the petition. As well as passing it on to others! Our deepest thanks!
