MESSAGE FROM 'PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATS OF AMERICA'
2006 will be an important year for our country. PDA would like your input as we plan
our direction for next year. To help stimulate discussion, we have asked members
of our Advisory Board to write their recommendations and vision of the future role
of PDA. But we need your feedback. It is imperative to PDA's success that your
grassroots input is combined with the thoughts of these progressive leaders to
determine the direction PDA will take in the crucial year ahead.
Our first letter about PDA's future is written by Tom Hayden. Tom has been with PDA
since our launch as an organization. He told us then that the 2004 election for
President must be about the war. His words fell on deaf ears with Democratic Nominee
John Kerry, but not to the hundreds of thousands of activists who mobilized around
this issue in 2004. In 2006, we must keep this issue at the forefront. Tom has
recently written a letter to the senior staff and advisors of PDA discussing what
he feels should be the future strategic plan regarding our electoral work as truly
progressive Democrats. With Bush and his cronies facing criminal and potential
impeachment charges, the movement to elect Democrats who are a voice of peace in
Congress is critical. Please read the following piece by Tom Hayden regarding his
advisement for PDA in 2006, and then send us your feedback (see instructions at
the top and bottom of the article on our web site):

This is a critical time for dialogue, but more importantly, a critical time to
continue our actions both inside and outside of the Democratic Party. We look
forward to hearing from you! If you can help support this work financially,
