NO NATIONAL ICONS IN NEW YORK?
[Duchess Note – The below article/message was shared with me by a fellow NYC Kucitizen. Apparently the article is from the Hillary Clinton website. I do NOT endorse Hillary and my vote/support is with Jonathan Tasini. Regarding this article, I'm sending several "NYC Icon" postcards to Mr Chertoff. How dare he and the Bush Regime continually insult us New Yorkers. Grrrrrrrrrrr]

When the Department of Homeland Security cut funding to New York's Homeland Security Grant program this week, they included a so-called "explanation" that said the city had no national monuments and icons. No national monuments and icons?!? Not the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, Shea & Yankee stadiums, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and so many more national treasures. Maybe Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and his Department don't think those are icons – but we know better!

Hillary and Congressman Peter King (R-NY), Chairman of the House Committee, have partnered to remind Secretary Chertoff what's at stake for New York and for all of us when Homeland Security funds to high-risk areas are slashed. Stand up for New York's icons and our nation's security. Send a postcard of a New York icon to Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff and remind him our security is vital. As Hillary says: "The Department of Homeland Security should ensure that our limited Homeland Security funds get to where they are most needed and that our American cities and states living under the greatest threat receive the funding they need to protect themselves from harm." Five years after September 11, and they still don't get it? Send a postcard to Michael Chertoff, and forward this email to your friends. Go to: http://www.hillaryclinton.com/action/postcard/
