Kucinich 2nd with 30% in Hawaii
February 25, 2004
The results from yesterday's primary are in, and Dennis placed 2nd in the Hawaii primary with 30% of the vote. This gives him 8 of Hawaii's 20 unpledged delegates, who will go to the national convention in Boston in July.

Marriage Amendment Divisive
February 24, 2004
Dennis Kucinich, in response to President Bush's announcement today on the proposed Constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union between one man and one woman, made the following statement:
"I oppose the amendment. Equal protection of the law, including the right to marry, must be made available to all Americans regardless of race, color, creed or sexual orientation. The amendment as supported by the president is a continuation of his divisive policies which are not worthy of a free nation or a freedom-loving people."

Personal News Update - Part I
Its been a good, productive, funky kind of busy over the past week. [I am not complaining at all, but thoroughly enjoying it.] Not only with work, but also volunteer stuff outside of the office too. Lots of good vibes and the romance scene seems to be coming out of a semi deep freeze. AMEN! Last Wednesday, February 18th, was the "NYC Friends of Kucinich General Meeting" on East 23rd Street and we had a good turnout of 50+. Had to take a taxi from the office to get there on time and meeting commenced 10 minutes or so later. Whew! Saw several people I already know ... such as Paul [thanks for the hug], Stephanie [always a warm smile], Mary, Robert, Lawrence, Ed, Thom [such a cutie] and Nick. Paul introduced me to BC and we talked about media, press release, contacting folk and a few other topics. The meeting itself was really great. Stephanie started off with introduction and overview. Mike spoke about what we should be doing in the days leading up to March 2nd. One of which is approaching Dean supporters ... since he sort of pulled out of the race after Wisconsin primary. Also mentioned was that DJK came out on top over the other candidates when a worldwide poll was conducted. [He also brought up the fact that Arab Americans have endorsed Kucinich.] Both news items are awesome. Jessica gave a rousing speech [before heading up to a White Plains meeting] on DJKs electability. Very inspiring speech! Next up was Laurie and Mary to talk about calling targeted voters in the NYC area. [After the main meeting was completed many were handed calling sheets with names, locations, etc.] Rio told us about an upcoming [Feb 27th @ 6pm] Raw Food Fundraiser being held down in west village area. Information can be located on the following website:

The different boroughs or districts will be having a Kucinich Delegates Marches the weekend of February 28th/29th. Of which I'll be participating in and very much looking forward too. Stephanie briefly discussed leafleting, Ed talked about postering and I signed up to help out with Fundraiser event at St John the Divine on Feb 22nd. [More on that last bit in another post.] Afterwards I talked with Lawrence and Paul on getting the word out to the media. Chatted with Thom about the "No To Bush" website. Then sat down with Brooklyn volunteers to go over calling targeted voters. The list handed to me is for Carroll Gardens section and I've made some calls already. Some good, some not so and other times an answering machine. Need to remind people that DJK is still in the race and to vote on March 2nd. Will have more updates on volunteer work in next day or so. Stay tuned...............remember to keep rocking in the free world or whats left of it.
